KMP GmbH - Introducing ourselves
After the Kammermusikpodium was founded in 1988, it soon became the largest promoter of classical music in the region. By 2001 a change of direction was taking place. The programme had become so varied that the Kammermusikpodium (Chamber Music Podium) had to be renamed Braunschweig Classix FESTIVAL (Brunswick Classix FESTIVAL), which was now organized by KMP GmbH – Konzerte und Veranstaltungen (KMP GmbH – concerts and events). Since then more than 30.000 visitors have attended the performances, not to mention all those who have enjoyed the concert radio broadcasts. The Festival had now become one of the most prominent music festivals in Lower Saxony. The annual festival took place from May to June and consisted of more than 60 concerts and events. In 2004 the Brunswick Classix FESTIVAL restructures its programme and organizes a series of events taking place throughout the whole year. The “festival-region” extends from Hanover through Braunschweig to Magdeburg and from Wolfsburg to Fürstenberg.
After months of preparation by the team, the new programme is presented to the public each year in January. The six-man team of KMP GmbH is supplemented by numerous trainees and helpers to ensure that the concerts and events become a pleasant and memorable experience for the audience.
The programme is diverse and varied. As well as classical and modern music some elements of jazz and crossover are also included. The renowned performers are of world class standard. Here are just a few examples: Cecilia Bartoli; Mstislav Rostropwitsch; The Juilliard String Quartet; Arcadi Volodos; Les Tambours Du Bronx; The Munich Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by James Levine; The Gewandhausorchester Leipzig and Gewandhauskapellmeister Herbert Blomstedt; The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra under Zubin Mehta; The Philadelphia Orchestra conducted by Christoph Eschenbach.
